Job Summary:The Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This position requires expertise in payroll systems, compliance with tax and labor regulations, and meticulous attention to detail. The role also involves providing support to employees and management regarding payroll and maintaining records for reporting, control and auditing purposes.
What you will do:Payroll Processing:- Prepare and process regular and off cycle payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including tax forms, benefits deductions, and direct deposit information.
- Calculate and verify pay adjustments, overtime, bonuses, and other compensations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve employee concerns promptly.
- Generate payroll reports and provide data for financial analysis or audits.
Benefit Reconciliation:- Reconcile benefit plan data against payroll records using Everything Benefits reconciliation system.
- Reconcile benefit records to general ledger system.
- Ensure proper remittance of benefit deductions to related vendors, including 401k.
Payroll Related Financial Tasks:- Accrue and reconcile payroll liabilities.
- Prepare payroll, benefit and expense fluctuation explanations.
- Prepare payroll to general ledger quarterly reconciliation.
Compliance and Reporting:- Stay updated on payroll laws and related reporting regulations and ensure payroll system is updated appropriately.
- Process quarterly and annual payroll reconciliations within the payroll system.
- Prepare year-end tax forms including W-2s.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and reports.
Collaboration and Support:- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll.
- Work closely with HR to manage employee data, such as new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
Other Duties as Assigned.Who you are:- Education: BS degree in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources or equivalent job experience.
- Experience: 5-7+ years in complex payroll processing including tax, benefits and GL reconciliation.
- Certified Payroll Professional Certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in payroll software - UKG Ready experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
Base salary is $75,000-100,000 annually.
