About the Role

Dandy is hiring a Payroll Lead to support the execution and operational excellence of our U.S. payroll program. This role will focus on payroll operations, partnering closely with Accounting and People Systems to ensure payroll is processed accurately, compliantly, and on schedule every cycle.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will own day-to-day payroll execution and act as a key operator in the payroll process, ensuring payroll data integrity, monitoring compliance requirements, and supporting reconciliation and reporting activities.

What You'll Do
  • Execute Payroll Operations
    • Process bi-weekly U.S. payroll in partnership with the Payroll Manager, ensuring accuracy and on-time execution.
    • Manage payroll inputs including compensation changes, variable pay, adjustments, and off-cycle payments.
    • Review EOR and international contractor payroll changes, including submitting compensation and PR updates in Deel
    • Review payroll registers and supporting reports prior to final approval.
  • Maintain Payroll Accuracy
    • Audit payroll data each cycle to ensure accurate earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies in partnership with HR, Accounting, and managers.
    • Maintain clear payroll documentation and operating procedures.
  • Ensure Payroll Compliance
    • Monitor federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance.
    • Assist with agency notices and payroll corrections.
    • Support year-end payroll reporting including W-2 preparation.
  • Systems, Reporting & Accounting Coordination
    • Operate payroll in UKG and generate payroll reports for internal stakeholders.
    • Support payroll reconciliations and month-end close activities with Accounting.
    • Maintain internal controls and documentation supporting payroll accuracy and audits.
  • Employee Payroll Support
    • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies.
    • Process payroll corrections and final pay when required.

What We're Looking For
  • 4+ years of U.S. payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax withholding, and payroll reporting requirements.
  • Experience processing payroll in systems such as UKG, ADP, Paylocity, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Experience supporting payroll audits, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams.

Bonus Points For
  • Experience administering payroll in UKG.
  • Experience supporting payroll during periods of rapid company growth or scaling operations.
  • Exposure to international payroll processes or global payroll vendors.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
