Full Job Description
Agilix Solutions is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager for our St. Louis, MO Headquarters. This position is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all Company payrolls and the administration of the Company's various employee benefit programs. The position must communicate well and work closely with members of the Company's Accounting and Human Resources (HR) Teams, other members of Company Management, and the Company's third-party payroll and benefits service providers to make certain that work is accomplished and service is delivered in a high-quality manner. The Payroll & Benefits Manager must have excellent organization skills while maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to the Company's Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

Payroll Administration
  • Administer and process bi-weekly payroll, as well as monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual incentive compensation payrolls (commissions and bonuses)
  • Manage relationship with third-party payroll provider (e.g., ADP), including preparation, review, and approval of payroll prior to finalization
  • Review payroll pre- and post-transmittal to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
  • Maintain payroll data including wage adjustments, bonuses, union dues, taxable benefits, and ad hoc compensation changes
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all payroll tax filings, and year-end reporting (e.g., W-2s, ACA reporting)
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all employee changes, deductions, and garnishments
  • Generate final pay calculations and unused PTO payouts
  • Administer PTO balances, disability classifications, and other payroll-related tracking


Benefits Administration
  • Oversee administration of all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, COBRA, and various voluntary benefits
  • Manage annual open enrollment in partnership with third-party brokers
  • Maintain benefits data integrity and ensure accurate payroll deductions
  • Support and administer the Company's 401(k) plan, including: contribution changes, loan processing, and enrollments; coordination with Accounting for employer contributions;


providing information for audits; and reconciliation of plan data

  • Generate and maintain various benefits-related reports (e.g., census reports for 401(k), health insurance and HSA, etc.)


Other
  • Support new hire onboarding regarding payroll & benefits
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in areas of responsibility
  • Manage Union payroll elements, including dues and reporting where applicable
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to any notices received from payroll tax agencies and benefit plan providers
  • Generate miscellaneous reports out of the HRIS system
  • Support internal and external audits, including financial audits, workers' compensation audits, and 401(k) audits
  • Prepare and provide payroll and benefits information needed for Company income tax filings
  • Maintain payroll and benefits documentation on Company intranet and HRIS platforms
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains in areas of responsibility
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from employees and Management
  • Maintain records in accordance with company retention policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Skills

  • College bachelor's degree preferred
  • 10 years of relevant experience with payroll and benefits, including at least 3 years as a Payroll & Benefits Manager
  • Positive attitude and provides courteous, friendly service to all internal team members and external customers
