Payroll Administrator

Department: Payroll

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Oregon - Clackamas

Reporting To: Accounting Manager

Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000 / year

Ability to excel in a fast-growing/fast paced environment delivering accuracy while managing to deadlines where adaptability is imperative.

Summary
The Payroll Administrator will oversee and facilitate the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. They will work directly with department leaders in order to ensure understanding of their roles and responsibilities in approving and submitting timecards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
  • Gathers time records from employees and calculates hours worked and pay received for each employee accurately
  • Responsible for ensuring that time records are accurate and that any inconsistencies or errors are resolved
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Provides records and documentation to accountants for accurate payment of compensation and reimbursements
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Audits benefit plans for accuracy, updates as necessary
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures. Works directly with teams to implement new systems
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice


Qualifications

  • Experience/Skills: At least 3 years of related experience/training within an accounting function/department, preferable in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education. 1 year of public accounting experience preferred.
  • Must have a proven track record in ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines. Must have strong accounting background, mathematical, analytical, communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Strong quantitative and organizational skills are required. Must possess
    the ability to interact effectively across all levels of management. Strong attention to detail is critical as well as the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance assurance.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft office, data analysis, Google Apps and QuickBooks
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company
  • Possess advanced mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all state required: permits, licenses, certifications
  • Travel between sites will be required
