Salary Range: USD 110,000.00 - 140,000.00 plus annual discretionary bonus
We are seeking a Payroll & Accounting Manager to lead the administration, oversight, and continuous improvement of the firm's global payroll and compensation accounting processes. This role is responsible for ensuring that salaries, wages, bonuses, and incentives are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The Payroll & Accounting Manager will serve as a key subject matter expert and operational leader for payroll, compensation accounting, and related controls. This individual will partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, external payroll providers, auditors, and other stakeholders to support accurate financial reporting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical payroll and accounting expertise, high attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to manage complex processes in a fast-paced, global environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and process global payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with global payroll providers in France, UK, UAE, Australia, Japan, and others to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Manage relevant payroll provider and software vendor relationships, including issue resolution and service coordination.
- Maintain and communicate annual payroll calendar, key deadlines, and processing requirements.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including: salary changes; federal, state, and local taxes; exemptions; insurance coverage; deductions; and other necessary records
- Lead compensation-related activities, such as salary adjustments, bonus payments, and long-term incentive programs.
- Prepare financial reports and statements related to compensation, including periodic and year-end reports for internal use and compliance with government regulations.
- Prepare compensation-related journal entries and update and maintain the underlying calculations and analysis.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for all compensation related costs.
- Work closely with the Finance department to reconcile compensation-related accounts and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately reflected in the company's accounting system.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll issues and provide accurate information and guidance.
- Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local payroll, wage, hour laws, and best practices.
- Work closely with the US payroll provider to ensure accurate state tax filing, reporting, and compliance.
- Keep abreast of current trends and best practices in compensation and payroll accounting.
- Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations for compensation-related items.
- Collaborate with auditors, accountants, and other finance professionals to ensure integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of payroll and compensation accounting software and systems.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting, controls, and systems.
- Identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose solutions.
- Responsible for ad-hoc Human Resource projects and assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in payroll accounting and general accounting concepts required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payroll, compensation accounting, or related roles, including experience with multi-state and preferably global payroll operations.
- Prior experience leading payroll processes in a complex organization.
- Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems, as well as Excel.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compensation best practices.
- Demonstrated experience with payroll-related account reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical abilities.

- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information.

The base salary offered will be determined by variousfactors such as geographic location, relevant experience, education, andqualifications.
