Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Patient Navigation Educator (PNE) is responsible for providing patient information and education to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate use of PROVENGE4 (sipuleucel-T) (the "Product") from enrollment to completed infusions. The PNE regularly communicates with patients regarding their enrollment, using the Provenge Treatment Guide as their tool for patient guidance. The PNE could additionally support the Nurse Educator team through field coverage if needed. The role is field-based and could require travel. It also requires close collaboration with other functions within Dendreon (e.g., interacting with Patient Services, Sales Teams, and Medical Affairs). All support and essential functions are conducted within FDA approved product labeling. This position reports to the Senior Director, Nurse Educator.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • The PNE will work closely with Patient Services, Nurse Educator, and Key Account Managers (kAMs) to identify newly enrolled patients, to then communicate with those patients regarding their enrollment and steps in their infusion process. The PNE will document all communications and will conduct all communications within legal and compliance guidelines.
  • The PNE will provide back up support to the Nurse Educator team, as needed, through healthcare professional account education, from enrollment to completed infusion of the Product, as well as interactions with members of the Apheresis Network and clinical support during all aspects of the PROVENGE4 process. This can include in service support and infusion support.
  • The PNE will regularly communicate and meet as needed with the Nurse Educator and KAMs.
  • The PNE will use analytics and data on a daily basis, to monitor and maintain activities within the accounts and region they cover. They will use the data to provide updates to their commercial colleagues.
  • The PNE will provide a weekly activity report at the end of each business week to their supervisor.
  • The PNE will participate and attend all commercial trainings and meetings as warranted.
  • The PNE will regularly participate in and provide updates to the region(s) they support, via conference calls, regional meetings, and national sales meetings.
  • The PNE will be involved and attend local, state, regional and national association meetings and congresses, as warranted.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with internal business partners to successfully accomplish assigned responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all compliance and contractual requirements per Dendreon's policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • RN and/or BSN required.
  • Minimum of Three or more years of related experience in a commercial pharmaceutical industry position.
  • Minimum of Three or more years working closely with commercial team members to improve the therapy process within offices and with patients.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and PhRMA promotional guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build effective relationships within the company and with external partners, at all levels, from technical/clinical staff to executives. This role requires the highest level of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, while responding to inquiries with offices, patients or commercial colleagues.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional travel, as needed, in support of the Nurse Educator team. This includes travel in the field and in accounts. Additional Travel/attendance at meetings, congresses, and conferences will occur.
  • The job is performed in a field-based setting.
