Patient Services Manager to lead our Patient Services Team in a fast-paced Acute Care setting in Poughkeepsie, NY. This leadership role oversees patient dining operations supporting a
362 average daily census, a
bedside patient meal delivery system, and approximately
$15 million in managed volume. The ideal candidate will have experience leading and developing
union hourly associates while driving operational excellence, patient satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish goals and oversee the implementation of patient food service programs based on medical direction, patient population, and facility objectives.
- Manage daily patient dining operations, including bedside meal delivery services, ensuring a high-quality patient experience.
- Hire, direct, coach, train, and develop patient services team members, including union-represented hourly associates.
- Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions, special diets, and physician-directed nutrition requirements while meeting patient preferences.
- Drive patient satisfaction initiatives and ensure patient services staff contributes to achieving established satisfaction targets.
- Manage departmental resources and financial performance within a $15 million managed volume operation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and accrediting agency regulations, as well as facility confidentiality, HIPAA, and patient rights policies.
- Participate in and lead patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:- Associate degree with one (1) year of experience in food service, hospitality, nutrition, or a related field; or a bachelor's degree in food service management, nutrition, hospitality management, or a related discipline.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Registered Diet Technician (RDT), or Registered Dietitian (RD) credential preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of food service management experience, preferably in an acute care healthcare environment.
- Experience managing patient dining operations with bedside meal service programs preferred.
- Experience leading unionized hourly workforces strongly preferred.
- ServSafe® certification preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, electronic medical record (EMR) systems, and diet office software.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Preferred Experience:- Acute care hospital environment with a 362 ADC or larger.
- Oversight of patient services operations with $15 million or greater managed volume.
- Experience implementing and managing bedside patient meal delivery systems.
- Proven success managing and developing union hourly associates while maintaining positive labor relations.
