Full Job Description
Role: Patient Engagement Manager

Company: Atlas Oncology Partners

Location: Remote, 8am-5pm CST

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: 75,000-100,000

Role Description

As the Manager of Patient Engagement at Atlas Oncology Partners, you may be the first voice many patients hear, and you'll set the standard for everyone who follows you. This is a working manager role: roughly 80% hands-on telephonic outreach and 20% team leadership. You will carry your own outreach panel and enrollment targets while coaching a small team, building the playbook, and helping us scale patient engagement across new clinic sites. You will start with one direct report and are expected to help grow, hire, and onboard the team as Atlas expands.

Above all, you're passionate about being a true partner to people living with cancer through every step of their care journey. You understand that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, and you believe no one should have to navigate it alone. That belief shapes how you approach every conversation - and how you teach your team to approach theirs. Because Atlas is a startup, you are comfortable with change and ready to pivot quickly when priorities shift.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Patient Engagement (approximately 80%)
  • Utilize telephonic outreach and engagement strategies to contact patients and caregivers, explain Atlas services, and support enrollment into the Atlas program.
  • Effectively communicate Atlas services and address patient or caregiver concerns.
  • Represent Atlas professionally to patients, caregivers, and oncology partners.
  • Coordinate with the local outreach team to support telephonic outreach to engaged and non-engaged patients.
  • Leverage reports and dashboards to prioritize telephonic outreach to prospective patients.
  • Successfully meet and/or exceed individual monthly engagement targets.
  • Provide inbound call support for the clinic as needed, including routing calls to the appropriate team member.
  • Support other clinic administrative tasks as assigned, including referral routing and medical record-related tasks.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex, sensitive, or at-risk patient conversations.

Team Leadership (approximately 20%)
  • Directly supervise the Patient Engagement team, beginning with one Patient Engagement Associate, and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support.
  • Own the team's enrollment and engagement targets; monitor performance against goals and intervene early when trends move in the wrong direction.
  • Conduct regular call reviews and one-on-ones to develop trust-building, objection-handling, and documentation skills.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training as the team grows across Atlas sites.
  • Build and maintain outreach scripts, call workflows, SOPs, and training materials; refine them based on what actually works on the phones.
  • Partner with Operations, Clinical, and site leadership to align outreach priorities with clinic capacity and scheduling.
  • Escalate operational barriers, data quality, dashboard gaps, staffing, telephony or CRM issues to the Operations Director with a recommended path forward.

Reporting

This role will report to the VP of Operations

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration, Sales, or other relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of healthcare experience in care coordination, community health, patient engagement, customer service, or sales.
  • Prior experience as a team lead, supervisor, or senior/mentor-level individual contributor; formal people management experience preferred.
  • Proven success in a centralized contact center environment with a high volume of outbound communication preferred.
  • Comfort carrying a personal call volume and enrollment target alongside leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong aptitude for documentation; prior experience with a CRM platform is a plus.
  • Ability to read and act on performance reports and dashboards.
  • Excitement to be part of a tight-knit team with shared accountability for enrollment and strong collaboration skills.
  • Strong trust-building and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate Atlas services and address patient or caregiver concerns.
  • Impeccable customer service skills; willingness to go above and beyond for patients or caregivers.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with the judgment to prioritize independently in a startup environment.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Some of the benefits of our comprehensive benefits package include:
• Health, Dental, Vision insurance
• Competitive pay
• Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave

You will collaborate with like-minded health care professionals who, like you, understand the importance and value of Atlas' high-quality, value-based care model.
