Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00 AM to 4:00:00 PM

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $34.97 - $45.46 / hour

Summary

Responsible for the management and oversight of pathology billing operations supporting Anatomical Pathology services across Lee Health. Provides leadership for charge capture, coding coordination, billing workflow, reimbursement integrity, denial prevention and resolution, and revenue-cycle performance for pathology services. Works closely with the System Director of Laboratory Services, Anatomical Pathology leadership, pathologists, Revenue Cycle, Patient Financial Services, Coding, Compliance, Finance, and payer-related resources to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant billing practices. Leads standardization of pathology billing processes across hospital, outpatient, off-site, and regional laboratory operations; monitors key performance indicators and identifies opportunities to improve charge accuracy, reimbursement, collections, and operational efficiency. Ensures pathology billing activities comply with applicable federal and state regulations, payer requirements, organizational policies, and established compliance standards. Serves as the operational subject-matter resource for pathology billing, reimbursement, and revenue-cycle issues.

Requirements

Education: Associate's degree in medical Billing and Coding, Health Information Technology, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle, laboratory billing, pathology billing, coding, or reimbursement experience required, including a minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience. Pathology or laboratory billing experience strongly preferred.

Other: Must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, analytical, financial, and interpersonal skills. Requires working knowledge of pathology and laboratory billing workflows, CPT/HCPCS coding concepts, charge capture, payer reimbursement, denials, revenue-cycle controls, and healthcare compliance. Must be able to analyze financial and operational data, manage multiple priorities, lead process improvement, and collaborate effectively across clinical, financial, coding, compliance, and revenue-cycle teams.
