Responsibilities Mintz is seeking a Technical Advisor to join the IP Litigation team in our Boston office. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or computer science and at least one year of patent prosecution and/or patent litigation experience. Candidates who are currently in law school or planning to attend are particularly encouraged to apply. Entry-level candidates will also be considered. Specific duties include:
- Reviewing and analyzing technical literature, patents and patent application documents
- Understanding, critiquing and providing insights on technical data
- Working with attorneys and technical experts on infringement and validity issues
- Analyzing products in connection with claims of patent infringement
- Supporting the development of global patent portfolio development strategies
Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.
Qualifications - A degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, computer science or a related field
- Ability to present and explain complex technical concepts, terms and discoveries to a range of audiences, including attorneys with technical and non-technical backgrounds
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of technical literature into a concise description useful for client's business objectives
- Ability to identify and describe differences in technological breakthroughs
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000. This position is bonus eligible.
