Supervise and manage Parts Department in accordance with dealership's guidelines and policies.
Promote profit of Parts Department through sales of parts and accessories by using advertising and merchandising programs.
Establish and maintain customer relations policy; wholesale customer follow-up, material return policy complaint handling, etc.
Select and train key personnel.
Establish and maintain practices designed to train, develop and motivate department personnel.
Establish and maintain an inventory control system.
Use inventory control system processing procedures and management reports that permit prompt, complete, accurate feedback of inventory condition (turnover, true turnover, gross turnover, obsolescence, part aging guide quantities, lost sales, etc.)
Establish and maintain purchase ordering policy; purchase order system, inventory guide figures, order code status, etc.
Establish and maintain warranty scrap and core handling procedures, including; location of, documentation of, material returns, designated personnel, etc.
Establish and maintain inventory storage system, including equipment bin locations, bin numbering/tagging, etc.
Maintain dealership equipment in effective working condition.
Establish equipment maintenance schedules. Advise upper management on needed equipment for the department.
Establish and maintain shipping and receiving policies and procedures, including Wholesale routes, delivery timetables, check-in and inspection.
Establish and maintain housekeeping/safety/security standards and procedures that produce a safe, attractive and clean working environment.
Maintain liaison with high volume customers to support customer satisfaction and encourage referrals.
Resolve customer problems and complaints immediately.
Attend managers meetings, as scheduled
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years prior experience preferred as a Parts Manager or Parts Assistant Manager with supervisory capabilities is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of vehicle parts cost estimating, inventory control, and the purchasing/ordering system of the dealership.
- Thorough knowledge of the dealership's policies, procedures, and products.
- Forecasting and budgeting experience; planning and administrating ability.
- Ability to identify, comprehend and act on changing customer and employee requirements; must
- Be able to work well under the pressure of deadlines.
- Possess good customer relations abilities, polite and courteous manner, cooperative attitude, team-oriented.
- Computer usage skills; familiarity with automotive computer systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Ability to communicate and understand English and Spanish; including reading and writing.
- Maintain a valid driver's license, ability to drive a variety of vehicle types, insurable.
