Position: Parts Manager

Type: Fulltime Permanent

Location: Abbotsford BC

Compensation: $115,000 - $130,000/year

Position Overview:

The Parts Manager oversees the daily operations of the Parts Department, ensuring budget goals are met, expenses are managed, and customer relationships are maintained. This role includes supervising staff through hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, while also analyzing financial variances and visiting customers to strengthen business relationships.

Job Duties:

Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing parts team
  • Communicate expectations, hold team huddles, and address trends impacting productivity and morale
  • Partner with HR for recruitment, training, and staff development
  • Manage payroll, apprenticeship documentation, and maintain compliance with company policies
  • Foster a respectful, customer-focused work environment that aligns with company values

Business Strategy:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet sales and budget targets
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement strategies to improve profitability
  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager to drive growth and efficiency

Sales & Marketing:
  • Track parts sales, market trends, and product advancements
  • Build strong vendor relationships and identify new business opportunities
  • Support marketing efforts and customer outreach for growth

Customer Experience:
  • Build and maintain lasting customer relationships through regular visits and exceptional service
  • Manage consignment contracts, bid on tenders, and resolve customer issues promptly

Other Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with other departments for seamless operations
  • Oversee purchasing and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Parts Technician or similar role in the dealership/trucking industry
  • Minimum 3 years of proven leadership experience managing diverse teams
  • Certified Journeyperson Parts Technician
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of business principles and sound business judgment
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to maintain client relationships
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
