Full Job Description
The Parts Director is responsible for managing an efficient and profitable operation of the parts departments with multiple locations. Must have experience calling on customers and developing Outside Sales Representatives.

The Essential Duties, include, but are not limited to:
  • Profitably grow all the departments you oversee.
  • Oversee outside sales people and develop new customers on a weekly basis.
  • Develop advertising handout and specials for outside sales people and in-store displays.
  • Monitor obsolesce as needed and suggest ways to dispose in a Profitable manner.
  • Working knowledge of computerized inventory management system, bar coding and MS Office.
  • Hire, train, motivate, and monitor the performance of the parts department managers.
  • Fill in for managers when they are off for training or vacation.
  • Assist with inventories at all locations
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts departments.
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the departments and employees and strives to achieve them.
  • Makes customer satisfaction a department priority, ensuring that parts personnel are courteous and respectful in their interaction with customers.
  • Maintains reporting systems required by general management and the manufacturer.
  • Develop and assist in training new hires to progress into department heads.
  • Hold monthly department meetings and attend staff and managers meetings.
  • Reduce employee turnover and increase productivity.
  • Monitor the performance of the parts departments. Follow list of duty forms.
  • Strive for harmony and teamwork within the departments and with all other departments.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect repair operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Maintain good housekeeping policies and procedures at all locations.
  • Understand and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • This job includes multi location facilities and you will be required to visit all locations on a regular basis.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Foster professional employee development and coordinates with department managers to determine need for advanced training.
  • Handle customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.
  • Administer warranty claims, reviews warranty policy adjustments, understands and applies warranty guidelines, ensures correct processing of claims, and communicates warranty information and clarifications to customers.
  • Develop dealership parts pricing plans and recommends to dealer or general manager.
  • Work with parts and service managers to find ways to improve the overall profitability of the dealership.
  • Be prepared to work over 40 hours per week if required. Hours 8:00am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Saturdays if needed.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.
  • Serve as liaison with factory representatives.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
