Full Job Description
The Role: Partnerships Director

For Alaska-based education leaders, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to help strengthen foundational literacy across a state where local context matters deeply. Just Right Reader is looking for a trusted former school or district leader who understands Alaska's rural, remote, urban, multilingual, and Indigenous education communities. In this role, you will partner with school and district leaders to connect their literacy goals with joyful, evidence-based decodable reading resources grounded in the Science of Reading. This is a chance to move from leading literacy work in one school or district to helping expand access and support for students across Alaska.

Because Alaska's education communities are highly relationship-driven and geographically diverse, this role requires someone who understands the importance of local trust, regional nuance, and practical follow-through. Your Alaska experience is central to doing this job well.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES TRAVEL WITHIN THE DESIGNATED REGION

What You'll Do:
  • Own the full sales cycle from first conversation through signed agreement
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with school and district leaders
  • Actively generate new opportunities by identifying leads, making outreach, and developing a robust pipeline
  • Deeply understand local literacy priorities, funding sources, and district goals to position Just Right Reader as the right solution
  • Represent Just Right Reader at regional conferences, events, and meetings with decision-makers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff and successful long-term implementation
  • Consistently meet or exceed your sales goals for district growth and product adoption

What You Bring:
  • At least 3 years of experience as a school or district leader (such as principal, assistant principal, curriculum director, or instructional coach)
  • Strong understanding of foundational literacy and the science of reading
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment and contribute to a collaborative team
  • Comfort with storytelling, strategy, and working with data to guide decisions
  • A natural drive to sell - this can mean you've closed deals in education, pitched programs to your district, or even worked retail in college. You're energized by the challenge of getting to "yes" and aren't afraid to own a sales quota

Why Join Us:

At Just Right Reader, we're transforming how children learn to read. You'll be part of a passionate, growing team committed to educational equity, literacy innovation, and joyful learning.

Perks and Benefits:
  • Fully remote role, with occasional travel to schools, district offices, and conferences
  • Company expense card and home office stipend
  • Up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Annual $500 childcare credit plus Urbansitter membership
  • A mission-driven team that is passionate about literacy
