Partnership Taxation Senior Manager (Operating)
Houston, TX 77002 - Hybrid
Full Time
As a Partnership Tax Senior Manager, you will lead the delivery and review of complex partnership tax engagements while providing high-impact tax consulting services to a diverse client base. This role combines deep technical expertise in Subchapter K partnership taxation with leadership, client relationship management, and business development responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with internal tax teams and clients to deliver accurate, compliant, and value-driven tax solutions in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead primary and secondary reviews of complex partnership, joint venture, and non-corporate entity tax returns
  • Evaluate tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage IRC A7704(b) capital accounts
  • Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise across multiple industries
  • Oversee and manage multiple client engagements, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to budgets and deadlines
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships; serve as a trusted tax advisor
  • Identify and execute tax-saving strategies and structuring opportunities, including entity formation and MA6A transactions
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
  • Utilize tax software and research tools to resolve complex tax matters
  • Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate staff; support recruiting, coaching, and performance development
  • Support and lead business development initiatives, including client pursuits and proposal development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Must-Have Qualifications
  • CPA certification (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a mix of public accounting and industry
  • Strong experience with partnership taxation, including Subchapter K
  • Ability to work in-office 3 days per week (Hybrid model)
  • Ability to travel as business needs require
Required Skills & Expertise
  • Partnership structuring, entity formation, and M&A tax experience (preferred but strongly valued)
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, partnership returns, joint venture and non-corporate entity taxation
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with proven relationship-building ability
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including mentoring, training, and team development
  • Business development acumen and experience supporting growth initiatives
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
