Job Description & Summary

The Opportunity

As a State & Local Tax Senior Associate on PwC's Internal Partnership Tax Team, you will play a pivotal role within the firm's internal Tax department, focusing on state tax compliance, research, planning, and budgeting for the firm and, ultimately, its partners. You will help navigate complex tax regulations, support tax planning and strategy, and contribute to optimizing tax positions while confirming compliance with applicable tax laws and reducing risk.

In this role, you will review and analyze complex tax data and support internal projects that help the business meet its obligations. You will leverage a broad range of tools, methodologies, and technical knowledge to interpret data, generate insights, and develop recommendations that support informed decision-making and the firm's broader business priorities.

As a Senior Associate, you will manage increasingly complex work, support project execution, and help maintain professional and technical standards. You will also build meaningful relationships, mentor and develop junior staff, and contribute to a team environment that motivates others to deliver quality. Responsibilities

- Executing tax compliance and consulting workstreams and managing stakeholder expectations effectively
- Preparation and filing of tax returns to meet regulatory requirements
- Utilizing analytical thinking to review and analyze financial data for tax compliance
- Developing and implementing state tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions
- Drafting and reviewing documents to support tax compliance and strategic initiatives
- Monitoring and analyzing financial trends to identify opportunities for tax optimization
- Raising issues with stakeholders and team members, escalating when necessary
- Supporting partnership tax compliance and consulting services related to state and local tax positions
- Building relationships with stakeholders to facilitate tax management and internal tax due diligence
- Promoting creativity and embracing change to improve tax processes and stakeholder experience
- Upholding professional and technical standards, including adherence to the firm's code of conduct
- Embracing technology and innovation to enhance tax outcomes

What You Must Have

- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 2 years of experience

Job Posting End Date

The salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $151,470. For residents of Washington state the salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $187,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
