Chartwell Law is looking for an experienced self-starting Partner to join our litigation group in our Atlanta, GA office. Successful applicants will have exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills. This position is full-time. The Partnerwill work directly with and learn from a highly experienced and fun group of attorneys and staff members. We maintain a professional yet laid back work environment. A candidate must be a team player willing to assist other team members when necessary.

Primary duties include:

  • Independently handling file from open to close, including supervision of associates and staff member
  • File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
  • Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
  • Annual billable amount of 1950 hours required
  • Regularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions
  • Drafting and responding to discovery requests
  • Expert witness retention and collaboration
  • Trial preparation and attendance
  • Some travel may be required
Requirements
  • Minimum of 9+ years' of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in personal injury defense and/or transportation
  • Familiar with handling civil cases from beginning to end,
  • Experience taking and defending depositions to include 30(b)(6) and experts, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials
  • Experience participating in negotiations and mediations
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of GA, other states a plus but not required
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
  • Must respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Excellent client skills and telephone manner
  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships
  • No portable book of business required, but a plus
