Full Job Description
Under general direction from the Associate General Counsel, the Paralegal II will work closely with attorneys, healthcare professionals, operations leaders and administrative support staff to provide legal, administrative and related support integral to the organization's operations. The individual will serve as a subject matter expert for employment agreements (clinician contracts, offer letters), independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, and Company policies across multiple jurisdictions, supporting litigation and agency matters including audits, and other departmental projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support employment law matters including drafting employment agreements, non-disclosure agreements, separation agreements, company policies, compliance related to changes in the law, and employee handbook updates; assist with employment-related documentation.
  • Draft and provide support on negotiation of independent contractor agreementsand college/university affiliation agreements.
  • Conduct employment-related research and analysis on wage and hour compliance, leave administration, workplace policies, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions; support monitoring and implementation regarding updates to the law across multiple jurisdictions and knowledge management.
  • Prepare litigation-related correspondence and pleadings under attorney supervision, including responses to employment claims, regulatory inquiries, and administrative proceedings before state dental boards and employment agencies.
  • Coordinate and track legal project timelines and deliverables with foundational project management skills, including support for basic project planning and milestone tracking to ensure efficient completion of legal matters across the organization.
  • Maintain project documentation and status updates while facilitating coordination between legal team members and other departments to support integrated healthcare operations and technology-enabled patient care initiatives.
  • Assist with litigation support activities including document review and production, discovery management, deposition/trial/arbitration preparation, and coordination with outside litigation counsel; maintain litigation calendars and deadlines.
  • Propose process improvements by conducting analysis and evaluating the effectiveness of reports and databases.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with legal technology platforms and software tools; ability to quickly and effectively learn new systems and evolving technologies, support legal technology implementations, and provide basic troubleshooting and user support.
  • Help optimize workflows using available technology tools to support modern legal operations in a healthcare environment that prioritizes integrated, technology-forward processes.
  • Act as a liaison with the organization's management, other internal clients and outside counsel.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate General Counsel, other attorneys, and management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related field, or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program in lieu of
  • 5+ years of experience required or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Employment law and litigation support experience including familiarity with employment agreements, compliance documentation, discovery processes, and case management systems.
  • Basic understanding of or familiarity with corporate entities and partnership terminology and structure.
  • Ability and willingness to work in-person in Irvine, CA.

Preferred
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Box, Docusign e-Signature, Docusign CLM (or other similar solution), Litera Compare and/or AI prompting.
