Job Description

Paint Manager

The Paint Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing paint processes to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in our paint processes. Partnering with our Engineering department, this position will support the technology enhancements and innovation, as the organization expands its processes to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and optimize paint processes to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into process parameters.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for paint process issues and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor material consumptions and process compliance.
  • Assist in improvement of current processes and developing new processes.
  • Work with Engineering to identify, procure and implement new equipment and processing equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance to reduce and sustain paint defect rate.
  • Report on current KPI results, as well as developing additional or improved KPIs to ensure continual improvement of product and processes.
  • Develop and initiates a Corrective Action plant to correct and/or prevent future occurrence of noncompliant processes or product.
  • Report daily on schedule compliance, quality and through put in the prep and paint department.
  • Safety, EPA, OSHA, IATF 16949 and ISO14001 compliance.
  • Coordinates the training of Paint Engineers and Paint Techs, including providing mentoring on paint process techniques and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for paint processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using 5S and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Lead and participate in process audits to ensure adherence to standards and identify opportunities for improvement.

Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Process Engineering, preferably in the paint processes.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing Paint Engineers and/or Paint Techs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, such as 5S and Kaizen.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with robotics and automation systems.
  • Ability to train and mentor team members.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
