Full Job Description
The Cancer Health Service Line at Corewell Health West is seeking a motivated and experiencedPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our thriving Surgical Oncology team! Working out of Corewell Health’s Lemmen Holton Cancer Pavilion and Butterworth Hospital on Grand Rapids’ Medical Mile in Grand Rapids, you will work full-time with a team of three physicians and four other Advanced Practice Providers. Our high functioning Surgical Oncology team offers a positive environment for providers with opportunities for growth! Expect to be involved in a multitude of multidisciplinary tumor boards and partner with multi-specialty teams!

We are seeking experienced APP’s with previous experience in a provider role.  Previous oncology and/or surgical experience would also be ideal.

  • Four 10-hour shifts or five 8 hour shifts weekly
  • Enjoy a hybrid schedule, working predominantly in our outpatient clinic with inpatient rotation responsibilities.
  • Follow patients independently in addition to supporting surgeon staff with pre-operative, post-operative and surveillance visits. 
  • In-office procedures are within the scope of the role and may include punch biopsies, I & D's, or aspirations.
  • 1:5 outpatient call schedule once adequately trained.
  • Opportunities for growth exist by implementing new patient education programs, working with staff and providers to enhance the patient experience, and participation in research studies!
 Qualifications
  • Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
  • 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience Required
  • Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role Required
  • Experience as a Nurse Practictioner Preferred
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association UPON HIRE except WITHIN 90 DAYS SHMG Upon Hire required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross UPON HIRE except WITHIN 90 DAYS SHMG Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Excludes Neonatal Services, Peds Trauma and Hospice
    120 Days required
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
