Overnight Hospitalist Veterinarian
MedVet Cleveland

MedVet Cleveland is seeking an Overnight Hospitalist Veterinarian to join our growing emergency and multispecialty team. This unique overnight position is focused exclusively on the management and oversight of hospitalized and ICU patients, providing continuity of care across services in a collaborative specialty environment.

The ideal candidate will be internship-trained and/or have 3-5 years of experience in emergency medicine, critical care, hospitalist medicine, or a specialty referral setting. This role offers the opportunity to practice high-quality inpatient medicine while working alongside an experienced team of specialists, emergency clinicians, and skilled technicians.

Please note: This position is dedicated to hospitalized patient care and ICU oversight. No incoming emergency appointments or transfers will be assigned to this role.
Responsibilities Include:

• Overseeing hospitalized patients and critical care cases across all specialty services, including Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Surgery.
• Monitoring ICU and inpatient caseloads overnight, assessing changes in patient condition, and implementing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
• Collaborating closely with specialists, emergency clinicians, and nursing staff to ensure exceptional patient care and continuity between shifts.
• Managing in-house transfers between services and coordinating treatment plans as needed.
• Communicating overnight patient updates and recommendations to specialists and the daytime medical team.
• Supporting specialty services with procedures, patient recoveries, and ongoing treatment plans as appropriate.
• Maintaining complete and accurate medical records.
• Providing client communication and patient status updates as needed.
• Working with hospital leadership to improve workflow, patient care, and operational excellence.
• Contributing to the ongoing development and training of clinical team members.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is up to $180,000, commensurate with skills and experience. Additional production-based compensation is also available.
