As an Assistant Transportation Manager, no two days are the same, but typically you'll be involved in the following: - Leadership - driver meetings, mentoring, motivating, ride-along/coaching trips, and training
- Team Management - participation in interviewing, hiring, training, performance assessments, and recognition
- Operational Management - route balancing, dispatch, equipment assignments, backhaul scheduling
- Regulatory Oversight - DOT, Federal, State, and Local regulations
- Route Coverage - during vacations and absences

Does this look like you?- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Class A Commercial Drivers License
- CDL-T certification preferred
- Two to three years of previous transportation experience and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
- Successfully passing a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check
- Must have knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Smith System (Keys to Safe Driving), and dispatch procedures
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)
