Full Job Description
Outpatient Advanced Practice Provider (Specialist)

The Department of Neurology, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time advanced practice provider (physician assistant or nurse practitioner) with excellent clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of the faculty neurology care team at the MARC Neurology Clinic.

As an integral member of the neurology team, the advanced practice provider will provide specialty medical care and participate in clinical trials in collaboration with licensed physicians. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, obtaining history, performing physical assessments, distinguishing between normal and abnormal findings, and implementing an appropriate management plan in collaboration with physicians.

Educational requirements for Nurse Practitioners include a master's in nursing (Doctorate of Nursing Practice is preferred) and certification. Physician Assistant candidates must have a bachelor's degree (master's degree is preferred) and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program is required. All candidates must have a current Texas license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant, applicable board-certification, and DEA certification.
