Full Job Description

Summary

As an Outbound Product Manager for AI and Workflow Automation on the Guidewire Cloud Platform, you will shape the future of how customers automate, decision, and infuse AI into end-to-end P&C business processes. This role is pivotal in capturing market and customer insights, identifying unmet needs and opportunities, and translating them into clear product direction, customer value, and commercially meaningful outcomes for our agentic and automation portfolio—including the Agentic Framework, Agent Studio, AI Connect, Autopilot Workflow, Rules Service, and Guidewire Functions. You will collaborate across teams to ensure our platform delivers measurable value, efficiency, and innovation for our customers.

Job Description

What you'll do
  • Act as the Outbound Product Manager for AI and Workflow Automation capabilities on the Guidewire Cloud Platform, spanning the Agentic Framework (agents, tools, memory, evaluation, observability), AI Connect, Agent Studio, and the workflow automation portfolio (Autopilot Workflow, Rules Service, and Guidewire Functions).

  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and field teams to understand real-world automation, decisioning, and AI agent workflows—uncovering valued capabilities, areas of friction, and emerging use cases across the P&C lifecycle (claims, policy, billing, underwriting, and servicing).

  • Synthesize market, customer, and field insights into actionable product opportunities, driving improvements and new features that address unmet needs and unlock new revenue streams as customers adopt agentic AI and process automation at scale.

  • Translate insights into clear outbound product requirements, positioning, and value narratives to guide platform, AI, and application teams as they evolve agents, decisioning, and orchestration capabilities.

  • Partner closely with other App Platform PMs and collaborate with Inbound Product Managers to ensure alignment and drive Guidewire's vision of AI-first applications.

  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, AI/ML, UX, SRE, Enablement, Professional Services, Early Access, Sales, and Marketing to influence solution direction, customer readiness, responsible-AI practices, and go-to-market execution.

  • Represent AI and Workflow Automation topics in customer meetings, advisory groups, workshops, and group settings—communicating value and best practices to both technical and non-technical audiences, including Customer Advisory Groups and Connections sessions.

  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

What you'll bring
Required
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role, as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong ability to synthesize customer, market, and field input into actionable insights that influence product direction and go-to-market execution.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate customer needs and business context to engineering, design, AI/ML, and cross-functional partners.

  • Working knowledge of agentic AI and GenAI concepts, including LLMs, prompts, tools, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), memory, evaluation, observability, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

  • Working knowledge of workflow automation and decisioning concepts, including business process orchestration (e.g., BPMN), decision management (e.g., DMN), event-driven architectures, human-in-the-loop steps, and serverless/function-based logic.

  • Familiarity with cloud environments and how AI and automation services are delivered in the cloud (e.g., AWS services, multi-tenancy, security, PII handling, and observability).

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers and cross-functional teams while maintaining a clear outbound focus on customer value, adoption, and usability.

  • Comfortable presenting and facilitating discussions with diverse audiences, including customers, partners, and internal teams.

  • Excellent English speaking and written communication skills.

Preferred
  • 8+ years of Product Management experience or equivalent experience in a customer-facing, technical role (e.g., solutions engineering, technical consulting, AI/ML product, or platform engineering).

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience; Master's degree is a plus.

  • Experience with AI/agentic platforms, workflow automation, or business rules/decisioning products in cloud platforms.

  • Familiarity with the P&C insurance domain and core systems (e.g., ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, InsuranceNow) is a strong plus.

  • Ability to travel 5-15% as needed.

We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first six months, you'll immerse yourself in customer and market research, build strong cross-functional relationships, and deliver actionable insights that shape the AI and Workflow Automation roadmap—helping customers turn the Agentic Framework, Autopilot Workflow, Rules Service, and Functions into a cohesive automation and AI fabric across the P&C lifecycle. Your work will drive measurable improvements in customer adoption, platform efficiency, and product innovation, directly supporting Guidewire's mission to deliver secure, scalable, and AI-powered solutions.
