OUTAGE COORDINATOR IISummary: As a Outage Coordinator II you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling utility outages required to safely execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities and capital project work. This position serves as a key contact between Utility Control Centers and Riggs Distler field & project management personnel to identify outage requirements, establish appropriate outage windows, and ensure work can be completed safely and efficiently.
The Outage Coordinator will coordinate outage schedules based on Riggs Distler resource availability, project requirements, and Utility in-service dates. This individual will also be responsible for preparing and submitting outage requests through the applicable utility systems, including ORCA/TOA, while ensuring all requests are submitted accurately and within established utility lead times.
The salary range is $90,000.00 - $130,000.00.

Responsibilities: - Coordinate with Utility Control Centers and Riggs Distler field & project management personnel to determine outage requirements for planned and unplanned maintenance and capital work
- Evaluate project scopes and field requirements to identify Transmission & Distribution equipment and systems requiring an outage
- Develop and schedule outage windows in alignment with project milestones, field resource availability, and utility in-service requirements
- Submit outage requests through applicable utility applications, such as ORCA/TOA, in accordance with established procedures and required lead times
- Maintain accurate outage schedules and communicate changes or potential conflicts to affected stakeholders
- Collaborate with field personnel, utility representatives, and project teams, to ensure outages support safe and timely project execution
- Monitor outage status and proactively address scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and changes in project requirements
- Ensure outage planning and coordination activities are performed in accordance with applicable utility procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards
Education, Skills, Experience Needed: - A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Utility Operations or Construction Management
- Advanced organizational skill, able to accomplish multiple priorities
- Procedural Adherence
- Demonstrates working knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems, including system components, electrical equipment, circuits, switching configurations, system protection, and operational principles.
- Demonstrates knowledge of electric utility construction practices, methods, equipment, materials, and sequencing. Understands construction activities associated with transmission and distribution facilities and the potential impacts of construction work on system operations, safety, scheduling, and reliability.
- Demonstrates knowledge and practical application of Permit and Tag (PTAG) / Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
- Demonstrates practical experience performing and/or coordinating electrical switching activities in transmission and distribution systems.
- Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook). Experience with outage management software such as ORCA/TOA required. Proficient typing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers and RDC team members at all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication, leadership and team building skills. Must have the ability to communicate information and state problems and challenges in a clear, concise and professional manner
