Full Job Description
Role and Facility Information

The Island Health Division of Orthopaedics is seeking a full-time Orthopaedic Surgeon in Victoria, British Columbia.

The successful candidate will be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and will have expertise in complex primary and revision arthroplasty of the hip and knee. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed fellowship level training in hip and knee arthroplasty.

The successful candidate will join our team of 13 active orthopedic surgeons and participate in on call coverage at the 3 main hospitals (Victoria General Hospital, Royal Jubilee Hospital, and Saanich Peninsula Hospital) as well as the South Island Surgical Centre. On-call responsibilities are approximately 1 in 6.

The successful candidate will have the option of joining a large group practice located off-site from the hospital offering physiotherapy, orthotics and other services within a first available surgeon model.

It is anticipated the successful candidate will participate in teaching learners from the various departments of the UBC Medical Programs. Academic appointment through UBC is available for qualified applicants
