How you’ll make a difference:

Reporting to the Team Lead, Organizational Effectiveness, the Organizational Effectiveness Consultant partners with leaders and teams across the organization to support change initiatives, improve business processes, and enhance organizational performance. Working with assigned client groups, the Consultant provides guidance and practical support in areas such as organizational development, change management, facilitation, business analysis, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate is a strong problem solver who can build effective working relationships, understand complex organizational issues, and help teams identify and implement solutions. They are comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and can balance the needs of individual business units with broader organizational goals.

Your responsibilities:

  • Partner with business areas to identify opportunities for improvement through surveys, focus groups, data analysis, business reviews, and research into leading practices.

  • Work with leaders and teams to develop practical recommendations and action plans that address organizational and operational challenges.

  • Provide change management support and guidance to help ensure initiatives are successfully implemented and adopted.

  • Help align improvement and change initiatives with organizational priorities, strategic objectives, and business plans.

  • Lead and support process improvement, business process redesign, and organizational review projects.

  • Use tools such as process mapping, workflow analysis, and performance measurement to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Review organizational structures, business processes, and service delivery approaches to recommend improvements that enhance performance and outcomes.

  • Coordinate and analyze organizational surveys, including employee engagement and customer satisfaction surveys, and communicate key findings to stakeholders.

  • Turn survey results and organizational data into meaningful insights and recommendations that support decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Plan and facilitate workshops, focus groups, strategic planning sessions, and other collaborative activities with leaders and teams.

  • Support business units in developing objectives and key results (OKRs) and other approaches for measuring and achieving performance goals.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders by helping them navigate planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational change.

Your experience and skills:

  • A degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field. A master's degree is considered an asset.

  • Three to five years of progressive experience leading or supporting process improvement, organizational development, change management, or other business improvement initiatives.

  • The ability to provide sound advice and recommendations to leaders on strategic planning, business analysis, organizational effectiveness, and change initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, see the bigger picture, and develop practical solutions to complex challenges.

  • Excellent facilitation, consultation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences ranging from frontline employees to senior leaders.

  • A collaborative approach, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience using process improvement tools and methodologies, such as process mapping, workflow analysis, or continuous improvement practices.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management and collaboration tools, and digital platforms such as SharePoint. Experience with data analytics, statistical software, Microsoft Copilot, or other AI-enabled productivity tools is considered an asset.

The following qualifications and experience would be considered assets:

  • Professional designations such as CHRP or CMC.

  • Change management certification (e.g., Prosci Certified Change Practitioner) and experience supporting organizational change initiatives.

  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of the Workers' Compensation system, including its operations and organizational environment.

Salary:  $94,909 to $111,641 per annum (Salary Grade 12)

Applicants may be considered for a position at a lower classification, based on their skills, qualifications and experience. Successful candidate must reside in Alberta and be able to work in person from our Edmonton downtown office as required. Final candidates are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
