Job Description
We are looking for a talented Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in both Oracle and MongoDB or SQL Server or PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, seeking to leverage their skills to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of our database systems. Oracle DBA Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration:


  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle and MongoDB or SQL Server or PostgreSQL databases to ensure high availability and performance.


  • Configure and optimize database parameters in accordance with best practices.


  • Backup and Recovery:


  • Design and implement comprehensive database backup and recovery strategies for both Oracle and MongoDB/SQL Server/PostgreSQL.


  • Conduct regular disaster recovery drills to ensure the effectiveness of backup strategies.


  • Security and Compliance:


  • Implement stringent security measures to protect sensitive data across both database platforms.


  • Manage user access, roles, and permissions to comply with organizational policies.


  • Performance Tuning:


  • Analyze and optimize database queries, indexing, and overall performance.


  • Monitor database performance metrics and address identified bottlenecks.


  • Collaboration:


  • Work closely with application development teams to support database-related application needs.


  • Assist in schema design, data modeling, and database migrations.


  • Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain thorough documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.


  • Generate reports on database performance, security, and compliance.


Qualifications

  • Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.


  • Experience:


  • 5-7 years of DBA experience with a focus on Oracle and MongoDB/SQL Server/PostgreSQL.


  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, as well as MongoDB/SQL Server/PostgreSQL queries and aggregation framework.


  • Technical Skills:


  • Proficiency in Oracle database management, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard.


  • Experience with MongoDB/SQL Server/PostgreSQL deployment and management tools.


  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools and best practices.

  • Experience with Datadog monitoring.

Compensation
Base compensation offered for this role is $98,100.00 - $140,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

*** Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e., commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.

Allstate provides a comprehensive technology setup, including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse. Employees eligible to work from home also receive a monthly connectivity reimbursement to help offset internet costs.
