Marathon TS is seeking an experienced Mod Oracle PL SQL/Web Developer to support our work with the DEA's Diversion Division.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain web applications served through Oracle mod_plsql
- Write and optimize complex PL/SQL packages and SQL queries against large datasets
- Build interactive, AJAX-driven front-end interfaces backed by PL/SQL procedures
- Troubleshoot performance issues across the database, gateway, and browser layers
- Participate in code reviews, deployments, and production support
Required Technical SkillsOracle mod_plsql / Web Toolkit- Extensive experience building web applications using Oracle's mod_plsql gateway (PL/SQL Web Toolkit, OWA packages such as HTP, HTF, OWA_UTIL, OWA_COOKIE, WPG_DOCLOAD)
- Configuring and maintaining mod_plsql Database Access Descriptors (DADs) under Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) / Apache
- Generating dynamic HTML output directly from PL/SQL stored procedures
- Session and state management in stateless mod_plsql architectures
- Array parameter passing between pages
- URL parameter passing
- Proper understanding of the various locking strategies to maintain data integrity
- File upload/download functionality
PL/SQL- Expert-level development of stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers
- Cursors (explicit, implicit, ref cursors), bulk operations (BULK COLLECT, FORALL), collections, and dynamic SQL
- Exception handling, autonomous transactions, and performance tuning of PL/SQL code
- Building and maintaining reusable PL/SQL APIs and business logic layers
- Dynamic SQL
SQL- Advanced query writing, complex joins, analytic/window functions, subqueries, and set operations
- Query optimization using execution plans, hints, indexing strategies, and partitioning
- Data modeling, normalization, and writing DDL/DML for Oracle databases (19c and above)
Front-End: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX- Hand-coding semantic HTML and responsive CSS layouts
- JavaScript for client-side validation, DOM manipulation, and interactivity
- AJAX integration with mod_plsql endpoints for asynchronous, partial-page updates (XMLHttpRequest / Fetch, JSON or XML payloads returned from PL/SQL procedures)
- Cross-browser compatibility and debugging
Education/Experience:- A BS/BA in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or equivalent, and at least 5 years' experience in the field. Nine (9) years of related experience is equivalent to a BS/BA in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science,
- 4+ years of hands-on Oracle development, with significant time spent specifically on mod_PLSQL web applications
Preferred / Nice-to-Have- Familiarity with Oracle HTTP Server / WebLogic configuration
- Experienced with tools like TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Plus, VSS
