Position SummaryAs an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse, you will provide essential nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery while helping ensure a safe, efficient, and supportive surgical environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience.
- Assisting surgeons and the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
- Administering medications and monitoring patient vital signs, fluid balance, and other physiological parameters.
- Managing overall nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Anticipating and providing necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Promoting patient safety and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused team environment.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Alaska State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an Operating Room setting.
- Experience in an outpatient surgery center environment preferred.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
