OptometristWe are seeking a skilled Optometrist for a Full or Part Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Optometrist provides eye care services at MACT clinics in accordance with accepted standards of medical and optometric practice. The optometrist will:
- Provide comprehensive diagnostician work, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system.
- Examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment.
- May prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions.
- Provide outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions in accordance with the State of California Board of Optometry.
- Meet regularly with other clinic providers to review patient care issues and concerns and actively participates in Quality and Performance Improvement activities
- Maintain good working relations among all staff through appropriate communications.
- Work with organization in development and provision of eye education for staff and patients
What you need:- Graduation from an accredited school of optometry
- Possession of a current California license to practice Optometry
- Board certified/eligible in Optometry
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- Current DEA narcotic license
- Current BLS/ALS certificate
- Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
- Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
- Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).
The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature
