Optometrists interested in full-time, part-time, or flexible opportunities within our growing practice.
The OpportunityOur goal is to give our doctors the resources and support they need to provide excellent patient care while allowing them to practice optometry.
Our ODs provide comprehensive primary eye care with opportunities to diagnose and manage medical conditions within the full scope of optometric practice.
Depending on the needs and interests of the doctor, patient care may include:
- Comprehensive eye examinations
- Routine and medical eye care
- Contact lens examinations and fittings
- Specialty contact lens fitting, including scleral and hybrid lenses
- Dry eye evaluation and management
- Glaucoma evaluation and management
- Myopia management, including MiSight, Ortho-K, and atropine
- Cataract and retinal evaluations and appropriate referral/co-management
- Emergency and problem-focused eye care
- Punctal plug procedures
- Human amniotic membrane allograft treatment
- Appropriate referral and co-management with ophthalmology and other specialists
Our doctors maintain clinical autonomy and are expected to use their professional judgment to determine the most appropriate care for each patient.
Technology & Diagnostic EquipmentWe believe our doctors should have access to technology that supports high-quality patient care.
Our practices utilize advanced diagnostic equipment, including:
- Essilor digital examination equipment
- Optos Daytona retinal imaging
- OCT
- 30-point automated visual field testing
- RETeval ERG testing
We routinely incorporate advanced imaging and diagnostic testing when clinically appropriate and encourage our doctors to fully utilize the resources available to them.
If there is something our doctors need to provide appropriate patient care that we do not currently have available, we are always willing to explore ways to provide the resources necessary for their success.

We are looking for an Optometrist who:

- Maintains accurate and timely patient documentation

- Works efficiently while maintaining a high standard of care
- Contributes positively to the culture of the practice
- Values teamwork while maintaining independent clinical judgment
Practice SupportOur doctors are supported by an established administrative and clinical team so they can remain focused on patient care.
Dr. Snipes & Associates assists our providers with:
- Provider credentialing and CAQH
- Professional liability insurance coverage
- Clinical and administrative support
- Diagnostic testing and pretesting support
- Appointment scheduling and patient communication
- Contact lens ordering and support
- Referral coordination
- Practice management and operational support
Scheduling OpportunitiesBecause we operate four locations, we are able to offer a variety of scheduling opportunities depending on current practice needs.
Opportunities may include:
- Full-time
- Part-time
- Weekend coverage
- Temporary or supplemental coverage
- Opportunities in Louisville, Lexington, or a combination of locations
Schedules are developed in advance, and we work with our doctors to coordinate availability while ensuring appropriate patient coverage throughout the practice.
QualificationsCandidates must:
- Hold a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school or college of optometry
- Hold or be eligible to obtain an active Kentucky optometry license
- Meet applicable credentialing requirements
- Maintain appropriate continuing education and licensure requirements
- Demonstrate professionalism and excellent patient communication skills
