ResponsibilitiesWorking in Agile style, develop and automate comprehensive test cases for CMIS-compliant optical module, based on project requirements using Python on the PACE test platform.
- Execute and monitor test cases within set timelines, ensuring thorough testing of optical firmware integration.
- Analyze test results to accurately identify and allocate firmware bugs, collaborating closely with developers for resolution.
- Provide timely support in the Ottawa Firmware SIT lab, setting up hardware, software, and optical network nodes.
- Conduct manual testing in the lab and document bug logs, facilitating the root cause analysis alongside development teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in testing processes through innovative automation strategies and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams on test progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Mentor junior engineers by sharing knowledge of firmware integration testing and Python automation techniques.
QualificationsYou have: 5+ years of hands-on automation testing experience in Python programming
Proven experience in optical firmware integration testing
Strong knowledge of optical communication principles and lab techniques
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
It would be nice if you also had: Experience testing client optics end-end traffic
Familiarity with different AI, e.g, Cursor, Gemini
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
