  • Collaborate to ensure products meet engineering and quality standards
  • Contribute as a Subject Matter Expert in creating installation SOPs

Full Job Description

This position is responsible for technical support of production operations at Edmonton manufacturing plant(s). Extensive AHU and modular datacenter manufacturing knowledge is essential as the role requires significant involvement in manpower planning, line layout input and production viability to meet ROJ dates. This position engages with business partners both internal and external to ensure continued development and advancement set forth to meet the increasingly challenging customer demands both in innovation and delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for fostering a world class Health and Safety culture. By providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to employees at all levels within the manufacturing facilities.

  • Act as proxy for Plant Manager when absence

  • Ensure all requirements are met to meet ROJ dates as committed to the customer as well as internal/external FWT dates.

  • Review and provide feedback on RFQ package to ensure production of unit.

  • Assess requirements by trade – testing, electrical, and mechanical to support standardization and efficiency improvements of staff and build processes.

  • Fill in for supervisor absences

  • Direct input on plant layouts, establish cycle times, identify specific equipment to meet production requirements.

  • Review station by station performance and support production supervision in execution of daily goals

  • Improve margin on product by providing solutions to remove hours from the build without sacrificing safety or quality

  • Liaise between field team, Engineering / Design drafting team in resolving build issues including but not limited to, scope gaps, drawing installation methodology, IWO information , coordination of material transport.

  • Provide essential information between project management and 3rd party installers to coordinate factory installations.

  • Provide direction when addressing CDEs (comply, deviate, exceptions)

  • Work with manufacturing and quality control team to ensure product meets the expectations outlined by engineering, applicable codes, and company standards.

  • SME input when creating installation SOPs.

  • Propose changes or modification to plans to enhance operations and efficiency of systems, plans, and specifications.

  • Provide engineering/ design team with support on design conceptualization to mitigate field related issues and ease of constructability.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Journeyman Tradesman or equivalent (minimum 10yrs exp).

  • Comprehensive experience in both field and commissioning of Modular Data Centres and AHUs

  • Extensive knowledge of Modular Data Centre/AHU constructability.

  • Technical and working knowledge of internal and industry design and construction codes and standards.

  • Knowledge of electrical theory and safety.

  • Proven planning, organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills, supplemented with a practical aptitude.

  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.

  • Commitment to continuous technical learning and personal development.

Working Conditions

  • Industrial, Field, and Office environment.

  • Occasional travel to field worksite locations, assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
