Full Job Description
The EthosEnergy O&M (EEOM) Operations Support Manager - Project Manager (OSM-PM) is responsible for complex, service contracts, O&M transitions/mobilizations both Brownfield/Greenfield and O&M outage planning for internal and external customers. Scopes are generally related to power facilities for power producers and industrial facilities in the Power, Oil & Gas and Pulp, Paper and Food sectors. Mobilizations and transitions are projects that last anywhere from three months two years where coordination of many EthosEnergy functions and interface with Customer and third-party resources is required. The major equipment for scopes of work cover gas and steam turbines, generators, and compressors as well as other plant supporting / balance of plant equipment. Scopes of work may include major outages, rotor overhauls, unit modifications, and upgrades. The OSM-PM is responsible to facilitate high performing project teams, promote positive Customer relationships, and accountability to deliver projects in a Safe manner, with high Quality level, within budget and on-schedule utilizing core competencies of Project Management. As part of the EEOM Operations Support Group, the OSM-PM will also participate in diverse OS fleet support activities such reliability programs and facility assessments as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage technical deliverables by planning, contracting, and coordinating the activities required for successful delivery of EthosEnergy contracted services. This includes but is not limited to internal and external coordinating of site staff, corporate resources, and Owners employees where necessary.
  • Facilitate and prepare pre-activity/outage project planning in accordance with EthosEnergy and contractual obligations.
  • Lead project meetings and drive action items.
  • Solicit quotations, negotiate commercially with internal and external providers, approve purchase orders with site or manager in charge and within established budget and DOA.
  • Oversee all internal and external subcontractors/business units to ensure scope delivery is in accordance Customer's Critical to Quality (CTQ) scope expectations.
  • Manage scope change, authorizing or limiting services providers accordingly in accordance with their contracted services.
  • Use project lessons learned to more efficiently manage projects and customer deliverables going forward.
  • Manage all internal requirements for contract management, including performing the following:
  • Identify problems and risks that could compromise contract deliverables and elevate to proper level of management as required to ensure problems are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare budgets and schedules for approval.
  • Prepare, analyze and report on project performance using project control techniques for cost, labor hours, scope, and schedule.
  • Lead periodic contract financial performance and margin reviews with EthosEnergy stakeholders.
  • Search for and implement mid-term and long-term cost reduction strategies to maximize the project profitability.
  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as defined for projects.
  • Participate in and lead business level process standardization and continuous improvement projects.
  • Fleet Operations Support Group activities as assigned.
Required Skills / Knowledge

  • In depth knowledge and delivery of best practices in Project Management systems, policies and procedures including but not limited to: Planning, Quality Management, Risk Assessment, Schedule creation and maintenance, cost management and variance reporting, change control, commercial understanding of contracts, and customer relationship management.
  • Strong ability to analyze contract scope and objectives and translate to efficient project execution.
  • Proven track record in managing conflict in projects to a positive resolution.
  • Demonstrated track record in motivating and inspiring internal and external project team members to cultivate and build collaborative relationships with colleagues & customers.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful goal achievement with the ability to think on a strategic level as well as a tactical level is required to drive solutions within a matrix organization.
  • A minimum of ten year's relevant experience, with a minimum of four years in a project management position.
  • Ideal candidates will have strong power generation or industrial process industry experience and will have successfully managed contracts, budgets, and people. Strong project management skills are essential as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have demonstrated leadership in gas turbine or steam turbine power plants or similar environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Engineering degree is preferred, or combination of a business degree with business improvement background
  • Recognized and accredited professional project management training and certification, PMI, PMP, or equivalent a plus.
Experience

  • Power generation sector experience required.
