Full Job Description
Salary Range is $75,150- $93,950 per year

Purpose of Position:

Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production of liquid feed and warehousing activities, while leading and developing staff, maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in safety, environmental, and operational performance.

Essential Job Functions:

Supervise the facility to ensure the following:

  • Safe, efficient, and economical production of liquid feed and dry ingredient warehousing.
  • Training of employees. Develop and maintain plant SOPs to ensure that all facility and company policies and guidelines are clearly explained, trained, and documented
  • Coaching and disciplinary actions of employees up to suspensions pending.
  • Compliance with company and government quality control standards.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and ensure compliance with company and government safety regulations. Responsible for facility safety program and compliance. Conduct regular plant safety audits.
  • Ensure plant housekeeping is adequate and properly documented.
  • Ensure attendance guidelines are followed and handle employee discipline related to attendance.


Accounting and Quality:

  • Ensure all products are manufactured according to formula requirements. This includes ensuring that all plant documentation is correct and accurate.
  • Monitor and investigate deviations from formulas based on ingredient usage and finish product weight discrepancies.
  • Responsible to ensure all CDFA and FDA requirements are complied with. This includes the daily drug inventory reconciliation and production variance monitoring
  • Ensure plant equipment is clean and in good working order.


Manage environmental compliance to including:

  • Compliance of Air board requirements in regard to particulate emissions on dust control measures for the Plant, roadways, and storage yard. This includes responsibility for monitoring, maintenance to systems, record keeping, and employee training.
  • Compliance of Water issues including SWPP and SPCC
  • Assist Corporate Environmental Manager with annual environmental training, audits, and documentation.
  • Compliance with all hazardous material use, training, storage, and disposal issues.


Train and support plant employees:

  • Prepare and provide written and on the job training to production and clerical staff.
  • Provide new employee safety and SOP training.
  • Fill in when needed for production staff, clerks, and dispatcher when needed.
  • Fill in for Plant Manager when needed.


Requirements:

  • BS in Agriculture Science/production or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in a production/maintenance environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Must be detailed oriented. Have strong mathematical and analytical aptitude
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Able to prioritize/adjust quickly to changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing plant needs
  • Able to work flexible hours
