Job Summary:
KBR is seeking an Operations Research Analyst/Data Scientist to join our team at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO. Successful candidates should have experience developing and implementing mathematical and statistical models to solve various problems across multiple domains. Experience and familiarity with the space domain is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding customer requirements, adjusting analytical efforts to meet those requirements, and effectively communicating results
- Developing and implementing mathematical and statistical models to solve various problems across multiple domains
- Ability to coordinate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives
- Ability to apply modern Data Science techniques (such as supervised and unsupervised machine learning) to datasets
- Understand how to optimize tasks using computer automation
- Work as part of a contractor team working alongside a broader team of government and contract staff
Required Qualifications:
- Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Education: Master of Science degree in operations research, data science, or related technical field
- 7+ years of experience
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience developing and implementing mathematical and statistical models
- High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data
Desired Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in operations research or a theoretical science field
- Experience in DoW space and joint force programs
- Experience with the Warp Core and/or Envision platforms
- Experience with NumPy, scikit-learn, keras, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Pandas, SymPy, SPSS, PSPP, SymPy, SAS, JMP
- Experience with web-application system design and deployment using Plotly Dash, containerization, and databases
Work Environment:
- Travel Requirements: Minimal
- Working Hours: Standard, 40 hours per week (Full-time)
Compensation:
- For Colorado only, the salary range for this position is approximately $140,000 - $150,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Other Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
