Operations Project ManagerGeneral Matter is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Paducah Operations team.
The Operations Manager works directly with the Paducah Project Manager and collaborates closely with project management, infrastructure engineering, project controls, the nuclear team, and procurement from pre-construction through project completion and start of production. This role helps develop and implement operational programs, plans, procedures, training, and processes that support General Matter's operations.
Key responsibilities include identifying equipment needs, overseeing cylinder receipt and delivery, managing operations personnel, resolving day-to-day operational issues, and performing routine inspections to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications-all while tracking schedule and budget performance.
Responsibilities will include:- Meet daily with crews to review production schedules and ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available to maintain progress within schedule and budget.
- Provide technical input for project work plans and schedules; identify risks related to production, materials, equipment, or processes that may impact schedule or budget.
- Evaluate daily production, schedule status, and budget projections; accurately document project performance using company-approved tools.
- Notify team members and management of significant schedule changes and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform additional assignments as requested by management.
- Conduct required Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Participate in weekly safety meetings and present field analysis as needed.
- Support estimating with schedule development and technical input.
- Assist with development of design drawings and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Develop program descriptions, plans, procedures, and training documents to support operations.
- Maintain an understanding of company values and strategic objectives.
Desired Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in nuclear operations, engineering, project management, or design.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, cost management, budgets, and financial implications.
- Experience developing program descriptions, SOPs, and training materials.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Additional Requirements:- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
Compensation and BenefitsThe base salary range for this role is
$100,000 to $170,000 annually.
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
