We are seeking an
Operations Partner & People Lead (Sr. Administrative Business Partner & Team Manager) to manage our Boston-based team of Operations Partners (Administrative Business Partners) and to provide administrative support to our local senior leadership.
This is an on-site, hands-on leadership role combining direct people management (30%) with active involvement in complex administrative and business support work (70%). Beyond driving team performance and coaching, you will maintain personal ownership of high-priority administrative and business support work for senior stakeholders. Success in this role requires strong judgment and the ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on delivery in a fast-paced, global environment.
This role is based in Boston (Allston), MA at our new Roche Genentech Innovation Center Boston.
The OpportunityTeam Management (30%):- You will manage, coach, and develop a team of administrative business partners (Operations Partners)
- You will foster a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative team environment

- You will monitor service quality, team capability, and recurring pain points and address any potential gaps
- You will align team practices with PSD global HQ standards
- You will collaborate closely with Operations Leadership on team priorities and complex or sensitive situations requiring alignment or escalation
- You will drive consistency in how business support is delivered locally, in alignment with global practices to improve workflows, coordination, and overall team effectiveness
Administrative & Business Support Delivery (70%):- You will be expected to deliver high-quality executive and administrative support to senior leaders, ensuring accurate, timely, and professional delivery of administrative and business support outputs
- You will oversee complex calendar management, meeting coordination, travel planning, expense processing, and cross-timezone logistics
- You will support a broad range of administrative and business support activities aligned to our service offerings, including leadership meetings, forums, offsites and other high-visibility business activities and events
- You know how to prioritize effectively, step in directly to support business needs, and balance responsiveness with sustainable workload expectations
- You will develop a strong partnership across various stakeholders. You will build trusted working relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including People & Culture, Finance, Procurement, IT, Facilities, Legal/Compliance, and Communication
- You will leverage Roche/Genentech systems and apply AI-enabled tools to improve team efficiency and productivity
Who You Are
(Required)- You have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or 10+ years of professional experience
- You have 4+ years experience in executive support, administrative operations, or business support within a complex organization. You handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- You have direct people-management experience, including coaching, performance management, feedback, and development planning
- You have demonstrated experience leading a team while providing hands-on, high-level administrative and business support
- You have experience supporting senior leaders in a fast-paced, matrixed, and high-discretion environment; you know how to use strong judgment, prioritization, and decision-making skills
- You have experience managing complex calendars, meetings, travel, events, and competing stakeholder demands, and are proficient with enterprise collaboration, communication, and productivity tools
- You have strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and influencing skills, and have built and cultivated important relationships both inside an organization and externally
- You are comfortable occasionally supporting business needs outside of standard business hours across global time zones.
Preferred Qualifications- You have experience working in biotech, pharma, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry
- You have experience working in a large, global organization and are comfortable occasionally supporting business needs outside of standard business hours across time zones
- You have experience with onboarding, vendor coordination and event execution
- You have experience using new digital and AI-enabled tools and technologies
This position is based onsite in Boston (Allston), MA (USA), and is not a remote position.
You are required to be in the office a majority of the time. Relocation benefits are not being offered for this position.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $88,500 - $164,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
