Full Job Description
Job Details

The Operations Manager (Complex Operations & Program Growth) partners with the Director of Global Operations to plan, staff, price, and execute complex client engagements. This role leads programs requiring advanced planning, multi-element coordination, and field execution beyond GRS's day-to-day ROC operations, including executive protection, risk assessments, transportation, intelligence, and investigations.

The ideal candidate brings experience in military, law enforcement, federal service, or private security and combines strong operational planning with hands-on field capability. The role also supports strategic growth initiatives, including Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) security programs and freight/cargo security escort operations.

While the requisition requires a specific state to be listed, this role is open to candidates across the U.S., and we encourage you to apply regardless of location.

Key Responsibilities:

Complex Operations Planning & Support

  • Plan and coordinate complex security operations including hostile environment extractions, international crisis response, and high-risk client functions in challenging locations
  • Deploy into the field to support or quality-assure operations where on-the-ground presence adds meaningful value
  • Develop mission plans covering threat assessments, advance work, staffing recommendations, contingency protocols, and after-action documentation
  • Coordinate the global partner network for multi-country deployments, ensuring compliance with GRS standards and client requirements
  • Represent GRS professionally in client-facing interactions during engagements

Pricing, Partner Management & Financial Awareness

  • Build pricing for complex mission proposals using GRS cost structures, partner rates, and margin guidelines
  • Review and challenge partner/vendor pricing to ensure commercial reasonableness and protect GRS margins
  • Contribute to proposal development, SOWs, and client-facing documentation; participate in post-mission financial reconciliation

UHNW Security Program Support

  • Apply UHNW protection knowledge to help develop and deliver GRS's growing UHNW service offering
  • Serve as an internal resource on UHNW threat profiles, lifestyle security, residential protection, and principal/family travel security
  • Support client relationships with family offices and private estate managers; contribute to UHNW-specific standards and pricing frameworks

Freight & Cargo Security Escort Operations

  • Contribute operational expertise to build GRS's freight escort capability targeting high-value cargo, pharmaceutical, and critical infrastructure supply chains
  • Help establish protocols for ground and air cargo escort operations domestically and internationally
  • Identify and evaluate global partner resources for freight escort; support BD conversations in supply chain and cargo verticals

Internal Collaboration

  • Coordinate with GRS's ROC team to ensure smooth handoffs on complex programs; share field knowledge with operations staff
  • Partner with BD and Client Services on proposals and client engagements for programs

Qualifications:

Required

  • 7+ years across one or more: military service (combat arms, special ops, intelligence, or MP); federal or state law enforcement; corporate or private security in complex environments
  • Demonstrated field experience. Ability to speak credibly to planning and executing real-world security missions, not just administrative management
  • Ability to plan multi-element operations including advance work, personnel coordination, and contingency planning
  • International travel capability. Valid U.S. passport, willingness to travel 30-40% including OCONUS and elevated-risk locations
  • Professional client-facing communication skills; basic commercial awareness including pricing, budgets, and vendor cost accountability

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience supporting or managing UHNW protection programs (principal/family unit, residential security, lifestyle integration)
  • Exposure to freight/cargo security, armored transport, or high-value supply chain escort operations
  • Prior experience with a global security company, risk consultancy, or security staffing operation
  • Familiarity with intelligence-driven security planning, threat assessment methodologies, or SRM frameworks
  • Experience coordinating vetted third-party security partners/contractors internationally

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma
