Full Job Description
We are looking to hire an Operations Manager immediately at our McCormick New Mexico in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for directing the daily operation of the production departments to ensure the
  • manufacture of products on a timely schedule; to ensure service levels while maintaining
  • quality standards, cost controls, line efficiencies, plant sanitation, employee safety and regulatory compliance programs.
  • To direct, control and manage production departments to maintain plant efficiencies and standards.
  • To prepare standards and budget for direct labor, materials and supplies.
  • To maintain the plant in strict compliance with all regulatory agency standards.
  • To direct the activities of the departmental Managers to ensure maximum production efficiencies at minimum costs, at proper service levels and Food Safety / Quality standards.
  • To ensure good employee relations, a safety program, training, and discipline.
  • To conduct timely management meetings to assure communications at all levels of management.
  • To make sure all necessary information is communicated to departments, employees, and directors.
  • To assist in the plant budget process and in the monitoring of the budget.


Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor production schedules to ensure that they meet the demands and requirements of the customer.

Food Safety Production Areas
• Notify Supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
• Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
• Perform all duties necessary to meet SQF level 2, and or Government requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company.
• Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become

non-compliant with specified requirements.
• Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
• Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients,

processes, quality system, or safety system.
• Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and

Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
• Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become

noncompliant with specified requirements.
• If this position is absent, the Plant Manager will assume all necessary operational and

administrative duties.

Scope Data:

Supervise directly all employees on McCormick New Mexico.

Qualifications:

Education: B.S.

Experience 5 years in manufacturing industry and preferably the food industry

Skills:

6. Ability to manage multiple tasks on an ongoing basis.

7. Must be bilingual and fluent in Spanish

* Must be able to lift, push pull and carry objects of moderate weight up to 50 pounds.
