OPERATIONS MANAGER The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily production activities across the workshop. This includes planning and prioritizing work, managing production flow, and ensuring operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and delivery requirements. He acts as the link between senior management and production teams.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE- Supervise daily production activities, including machining, welding, assembly, and custom fabrication.
- Plan work schedules, manage priorities, and optimize production workflows.
- Lead, coach, and develop production team members.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with management, estimators, and project managers to support production planning and execution.
- Monitor production performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to achieving operational objectives.
- Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and workplace organization.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
- Oversee equipment availability and support preventive maintenance activities.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Technical training in machining, welding, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Strong understanding of production planning, shop scheduling, and manufacturing operations.
- Proven leadership skills, strong organizational abilities, and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English are considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to quality, health and safety, and customer service.
- Experience with ERP systems and production management software is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of welding codes, metrology, custom manufacturing, or CNC machining is considered an asset.
