Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibilities of the Operations Manager are to manage the day-to-day operations and meet the values, guiding principles, operating, and strategic goals of AMR. A Manager of Operations must work to meet the business objectives of the organization by ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction and positive community relations, retaining profitable market share and driving non-acquisition growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrates that internal customers are as valuable as external customers. Project appreciation and respect for all team members
  • Analyzes markets and develops plans which match the supply of out-of-hospital healthcare services appropriately to meet customer demands
  • Ensures optimal service levels to agencies, hospitals, and the medical community. Analyzes information regarding customer satisfaction, modifies processes, and counsels employees to ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Keeps current on industry trends that have potential impact on the division
  • Plans, controls and monitors operating budgets for assigned area of responsibility
  • Participates in marketing activities and business development to increase revenue and decrease costs.
  • Prepares and analyzes financial and other data reports. Makes modifications to operations to contain costs
  • Directs and integrates clinical management
  • Designs, implements and maintains processes to maximize quality of operations
  • Ensures compliance with AMR policies and procedures
  • Ensures continuous quality improvement through clinical management, communications center, and protocol interaction.
  • Establishes a program for disaster planning and takes control of situations as needed during times of disaster.
  • Interacts with other emergency relief providers; public and private.
  • Establishes goals and objectives for field operations based upon communicated goals and strategies for the region, and clearly communicates these goals and objectives to the appropriate employees.
  • Provides direction, clarity or expectations, and coaching to supervisory team
  • Manages employee performance by setting and communicating standards, measuring results and providing feedback
  • Acts as a resource to employees in resolving problems and increasing effectiveness
  • Participates in the resolution of labor disputes and ensures effective relationships with union representatives
  • Ensures consistent and fair treatment of employees
  • Role models appropriate behavior with regard to AMR vision and Guiding Principles
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with OSHA, EEO and other applicable local, state, and federal laws governing business and employee relations
  • Modified jobs or roles of supervisor and field employees to increase job satisfaction and employee development.
  • Actively develops, trains, and promotes the use of work teams for process improvement. Ensures effective, timely and cost-efficient contract administration
  • Volunteers in community activities to increase the image of the division and AMR
  • Shares information with others in the region, other AMR operating companies, and Corporate to increase the use of best practices
  • Monitors and makes appropriate modifications in processes to manage success measures
  • Implements changes to integrate operational initiatives associated with organizational strategy.
  • Establishes plans and implements specific actions to assist in the quick, effective integration of new companies to the AMR family.
  • Ensures effective risk management (i.e. workers' compensation, safety) through proactive education and training programs
  • Manages inventory (including the fleet of vehicles) in a cost-effective manner
  • Administers the capital budget to ensure effective use of available resources
  • Moderate travel to assigned areas of responsibility
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • Must be visible on camera during remote meetings
  • Adheres to and complies with information systems security
  • Mentors employees, conducts performance evaluations, counsels and provides disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.
  • Champions affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc. Responsible for compliance and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Systems Skills - A working knowledge of MS Office. Uses data from different sources to identify issues and quickly identifies the central or underlying issues in a complex situation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensing/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or appropriate field of study, or equivalent level of related experience

Experience:
  • Minimum of three years in general management experience, including employee supervision
  • Minimum of two years' experience related to emergency medical operations

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated effective track record cultivating relationships with internal and external customer base
  • Driving record in compliance with AMR policy regarding insurability
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
