Full Job Description
Overview

The Operations Manager oversees the daily operation of the Distribution Center by leading and coordinating the team as well as evaluating methods and procedures for improvements and total quality. In this position, you will focus on innovative and creative ways to achieve desired results in the areas of accuracy, productivity, service, safety, quality, cost effectiveness, and growth and development of team members.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6am-5pm

Responsibilities

  • Own EHS Framework elements, proactively lead EHS audit team, and ensure audit findings and corrective actions are resolved
  • Drive compliance to certifying and regulatory agency requirements, own implementation of risks assessments and ensure JSAs are updated and accurate
  • Provide technical guidance for operations, equipment, and special processes and provide input for quality targets and site metric reporting
  • Understand the high level production processes, ensure compliance of operations, respond to quality findings, and drive timely corrective action implementation
  • Actively lead and prepare internal and external audits, assess quality risks, and implement processes to mitigate
  • Champion continuous improvement, apply Lean Six Sigma tools to drive consensus on process improvements, and mentor others in Lean Six Sigma tools and applicability
  • Participate in the development of Operating Plans- budget and predict, request, and provide rationale for deviations from forecasts (R/O's)
  • Deliver capacity studies and data to support requests for P&E and resources
  • Conduct scrap or yield reviews to drive cost improvements and throughput
  • Recognize the deliverable metrics for the various business functions and identifies productivity trends and data analysis
  • Assess and define reaction plans for an un-forecasted delivery, quality or operations event
  • Lead daily production meetings at beginning of day, mid-day, and end of shift
  • Provide analysis and guidance to support Sales and Operations requests and plans
  • Guide execution of future state value stream actions
  • Develop long term plan to mitigate risks, improve OTD, and expedite opportunities to meet customer demands
  • Coordinate with the customer-facing teams to decide delivery priorities, allocate resources to execute production plans, and conduct long range labor plans
  • Understand levers to influence production output and inventory control
  • Lead cross-functional team performance and engage team in defining team metrics and accountable goals that aligns to recognition
  • Utilize positive employee relations and apply effective communication to recognize and resolve concerns
  • Assess team dynamics and site culture to drive engagement
  • Own development plan for direct reports to ensure continued growth of leadership & communication skills


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a distribution center or similar environment
  • A passion for engagement and boosting staff morale
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills, able to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to get results through a team
  • Strategic thinking and 3-6 month planning
  • Manhattan WM experience a plus
  • Organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $85,000 - $105,000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
