Job SummarySummary: Responsible for the daily operations of the department and the supervision of staff. Supervises and coordinates daily technical tasks for reprocessing medical and surgical equipment, ensuring items are assembled in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials: Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or C.S.P.D.T - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. required ; Certified Instrument Specialist [CIS] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred; Certified Endoscope Reprocessor [CER] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred
Experience: Central Processing Sterilization Experience 3-5 years required and Supervisory Experience 3-5 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Complete knowledge of clinical operations, hospital mission and goals, and human resources policies and procedures.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, delegate appropriately, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide direction and development to employees by coaching, identifying training needs, assigning progressively challenging projects, and assisting in career development planning.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems in a systematic, logical, and timely manner.
- Ability to adapt to changes in daily routine.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications and instrument tracking systems; ability to learn additional software as required.
- Works within legal, regulatory, accreditation, and ethical practice standards relevant to the position: follows safe practices required for the position; complies with appropriate policies and procedures; fulfills any training required; brings potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate hospital staff.
