The Team You'll Work With:
The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Economic Justice advances policies that promote a more equitable and vibrant New York City. The portfolio includes the City's economic, cultural, and labor agencies, including but not limited to the Mayor's Office of Talent and Workforce Development, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC), and the Department of Small Business Services (SBS).
The Problems You'll Solve:
New York's rising cost of living has increasingly put pressure on residents, workers, and institutions across every neighborhood and sector. Sustaining a dynamic, accessible city requires intentional support for career-sustaining jobs, worker development, and the economic ecosystems that allow communities to thrive. Under the director of the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff will help advance this work by performing the following functions:
-Team Operations- Develop and implement team systems for memos, scheduling, standard operating procedures and more.
-Principal Management- Prepare for meetings and events, coordinate event logistics, provide staffing and advance as needed.
-Agency Coordination- Support coordination across agencies in the portfolio, intergovernmental affairs, appointments, and more.
-General Support- Prepare briefing memos, conduct research, make policy recommendations, coordinate meetings, and respond to correspondence from key stakeholders.
-Initiative Management- Help develop and track initiatives across the portfolio to ensure goals, deliverables, and timelines are met. This includes budget analysis, legislative review, policy evaluation, and implementation support.
-Internal and External Stakeholder Engagement- Assist the administration in coordinating for meetings with government partners, economic and business leaders, community organizations, and industry stakeholders including events at City Hall and out in the field. Assist in engaging communities across the five boroughs to support inclusive programming that reflects the city's diversity.

-You are a proactive self-starter who supports a learning organization and is comfortable handling a wide range of responsibilities.
-You can quickly absorb complex policy, legislative, and technical materials and brief senior leadership.
-You are highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-You have exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
-You have experience working with agencies in the portfolio, which is a strong plus.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree required.
-5+ years of experience.

Qualifications
1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university?
2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities?
3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above?
4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above?
