Job Title: Operations Manager - Vaporizer Manufacturing
Job Description
This Operations Manager role oversees day-to-day manufacturing operations for a vaporizer production business within a fluid-handling and cryogenic solutions organization. You will lead multiple functional areas, including fabrication, welding, electrical assembly, production planning, purchasing, and shipping, while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery targets are consistently achieved. The position requires a hands-on leader who excels in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment and uses data-driven decision-making to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations across production, planning, purchasing, shipping, fabrication, welding, and electrical assembly departments.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, capacity utilization, operational efficiency, and product quality to meet business goals.
  • Ensure adequate material availability and inventory levels to support production requirements and customer commitments.
  • Review production schedules, priorities, and delivery commitments to ensure customer expectations are met and deadlines are achieved.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities and develop operational schedules to maintain workflow, meet production targets, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve manufacturing, maintenance, and process-related issues promptly.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics to support production activities and troubleshoot issues.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices across all manufacturing functions.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and address employee relations concerns to build a high-performing team.
  • Partner with leadership and HR on performance management, staffing decisions, and broader workforce matters.

Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing or shop-floor environment.
  • Experience supporting a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operation.
  • Strong ERP system experience for production planning, inventory management, and operations management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of machine shop equipment, fabrication processes, welding operations, and manufacturing best practices.

Work Environment
This role is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., within a manufacturing facility focused on vaporizer production for fluid-handling and cryogenic solutions. The Operations Manager will directly manage a team of approximately 50 people across production, planning, purchasing, and inventory functions. The environment includes fabrication, welding, electrical assembly, and machine shop operations, requiring regular presence on the shop floor and close collaboration with multiple departments. The position relies heavily on ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools, with exposure to technical drawings, blueprints, and potentially AutoCAD. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
