Job Description:

As an Operations & Maintenance Operator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of bp's Olympic Pipeline system. This position involves hands-on field operations, minor electrical and mechanical maintenance, and supporting emergency response efforts. You'll work both independently and as a team across multiple sites, helping maintain infrastructure that delivers refined products throughout the Pacific Northwest.

What You'll Do
  • Operate and monitor pipeline facilities, including performing routine inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and manage hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Support facility maintenance and assist with minor electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Participate in emergency response activities and complete required training (DOT Operator Qualifications, Hazwoper, respiratory protection, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and use systems such as MAXIMO and MS Office for reporting and workflow management.
  • Be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed; respond to call-outs and emergency situations promptly.
  • Exhibit safe work practices at all times, including accurate use of company provided PPE and safe vehicle operation.

Job Accountability: Overtime

As a condition of employment, all employees must be available to work overtime as needed. This includes working evenings, weekends, holidays, and responding to callouts, including emergency situations. The ability to work overtime is essential to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and competitive operations, as well as the timely completion of projects.

How much do we pay? New hires for the O&M O position start at an hourly rate of $34.64, the entry level rate for the O&M classification. The hourly rate incrementally increases to the O&M O rate $51.71 as the employee progresses through and optimally completes the O&M Skills Training curriculum (approximately 36-48 months from employment start date). Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting

This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 - 240 hours of vacation per year for full time employees. You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
