Pay Rate:

$102,000 - $112,000

The Job You Will Perform:
  • Assume the role of team leader of the Manufacturing Work System (MWS) program, its overall functionality, and directly accountable for its success
  • Assure safety awareness, safe work and compliance with safety rules and policies in the coordination of the operations and maintenance functions
  • Conduct the daily MWS meetings and ensure the agenda is strictly followed
  • Plan and schedule the proper work to ensure process reliability
  • Oversee process preparation for maintenance:
    • System shutdown and isolation
    • System preparation and work area clean-up
    • System Zero Energy State (ZES) and Group Lockout/Tag outs (LOTO)
    • Work permitting (hot work, confined space entry, line breaking, etc.)
  • Drive the effort for continuous improvement in reliability
  • Provide assistance and technical advice necessary to assist in the operations process.
  • Review new work notifications for the area daily ensuring that all notifications have been properly screened, identified and prioritized
  • Manage notifications by deleting duplicates, ensuring proper user status and revision codes, processing notifications, understanding the job scopes and communicating with the notification originators
  • Achieve MWS metrics such as % break in work, schedule adherence, precision maintenance completion, Reliability Recordables, etc.
  • Assume ownership of the department notification and work order backlog
  • Review area planned backlogs weekly with the Maintenance Supervisors to update priorities, purge the backlog of unneeded or completed work and develop a work schedule for the following week.
  • Review Operator Round Sheets and Basic Care Route Reports for issues, communicating with Operators for details and ensuring that a notification has been written
  • Coordinate Field Day activities, including MS Project timelines, work tracking, job progress and operational readiness
  • Coordinate Annual Outage activities, including MS Project timelines, work tracking, job progress and operational readiness
  • Achieve monthly budgeted spending, including annual outages and repair jobs
  • Ensure a temporary OMC is always designated to perform all MWS duties when absent from the mill
  • Fulfill weekend duty role as assigned

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:
  • Demonstrated and successful leadership ability in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of and leadership in manufacturing safety practices.
  • 3+ years' experience in pulp and paper.
  • Must have a high level of integrity, energy, and leadership ability to develop and lead others.
  • Demonstrated and successful ability to lead and continuously improve team performance in order to work injury-free, provide a quality product, and achieve world class productivity in support of a high-performance work system.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills with proven ability to provide positive and improvement feedback, coaching opportunities, and take corrective measures as appropriate.
  • Strong computer skills required.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • College Degree Preferred
  • Excellent skills in organizing, planning, priority setting, and time management, with proven ability to adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving or conflict resolution processes.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
