Operations Maintenance Coordinator

Role

We are seeking an Operations Maintenance Coordinator to join our team. In this role you will bridge the gap between those requesting work (operations) and those doing the work (maintenance), ensuring a smooth flow, preventing conflicts, and optimizing resource use for overall facility functionality. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector.

The role is based at our Winnemucca, NV office and reports to the Lithium Carbonate Plant Manager. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary communication link between operations, maintenance, engineering and contractors.
  • Working with the maintenance planners create, prioritize and manage work orders for both reactive and proactive maintenance requests.
  • Work with the maintenance scheduler on prioritizing and scheduling maintenance activities that best align with operational needs and availability of equipment.
  • Keep the operations team appraised of all maintenance activities and ensure the proper permitting and planning is in place prior to the work being performed.
  • Help develop and implement the appropriate lock-out tag-out plans as required for maintenance activities.
  • Facilitate pre-job safety meetings and verify completion of required permits (LOTO, confined space, hot work, etc.).
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with the Contractor Coordinator in scheduling contractor activities to minimize or eliminate any operational impacts.
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead planning and coordination for planned outages, shutdowns and turnarounds
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, environmental regulations and company policies
  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and Values
  • Perform other duties as assigned
